I'm not really certain why I had trouble following this book. It wasn't really holding me -- but that could have been external circumstances as much as the book. Insofar as the book itself goes -- it's got the elements of really epic space opera that I truly enjoy converging on a single point, and I'm thinking I may end up enjoying book two even more than book one. Slow burn, yes -- but I think it'll be a good one.
